Marrit Boonstra Advances in NCAA Singles Championships

The University of Florida's Marrit Boonstra (Netherlands) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships Wednesday after her thrilling three-set victory at the Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M University.
The Gator junior defeated California's Bojana Bobusic, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5) in the opening round of play. Boonstra advances to the round of 32 where she faces Georgia's Tech's Christy Striplin on Thursday morning.
Boonstra also teams with Gator teammate Joanna Mather (Duluth, Ga.) in the first round of the 32-team doubles event, where the pair takes on North Carolina's fourth-ranked team of Sophie Grabinski and Sanaz Marand.
UF junior Anastasia Revzina (Moscow, Russia) dropped her first round singles contest to California's Marina Cossou, 6-2, 6-3. Revzina continues action in the individual event as she teams with freshman Jessica Alexander (Dallas, Texas) in the doubles event.
