Monday, October 25, 2010 | Cross Country
University of Florida assistant track coach Todd Morgan, who oversees the cross country program, addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
The Gators have had a two-week training period following the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind., Oct. 16 and Coach Morgan shared the team's preparation for the 2010 SEC Championship meet, hosted by South Carolina in Columbia on Monday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.
Florida's women will be aiming to defend their SEC title, looking for their second straight and fifth overall team title (1984, 1996, 1997, 2009) and second back-to-back, while the Gator men's squad will be looking to improve upon its fourth-place team finish at last year's championships. Florida's men have won three all-time team SEC titles (1955, 1986 and 1987).
Coach Morgan then discussed and fielded questions about the women's leadership of Genevieve LaCaze, Charlotte Browning and Ali Crabb and that trio rallying the team to defend its conference title. Coach also talked about what the team has been working on during the two week break on about the men's team doing surprisingly and unexpectedly well at Pre-Nationals.
