Wednesday Match Part of ESPNU Campus Connection
Monday, October 25, 2010 | Volleyball
In partnership with the Southeastern Conference, ESPNU has designated the Oct. 27 South Carolina at Florida volleyball match as an ESPNU Campus Connection production. Ten University of Florida students will be integrated into the broadcast, learning alongside the ESPNU professional staff.
Chris McGee will call the play-by-play alongside analyst and former Southern Cal volleyball player Kelli Tennant. A host of students will be involved in every aspect of the broadcast from production to on-air reporting and everywhere in between.
The ESPNU Campus Connection brand was launched in January 2008 as a student-generated content initiative that involves more than 150 colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Students regularly provide content for game telecasts and studio shows through short-form pieces on student athletes and campus life, as reporters, on-air announcers, producers and camera operators, among other roles. The emphasis is on providing an authentic look at campus life through the eyes and voices of the students.
Opening serve for Wednesday's match in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
