
Florida's 2010 SEC Cross Country Title Celebrated Thursday

The University of Florida women's cross country team celebrated its 2010 Southeastern Conference title with its championship dinner held Thursday evening on the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium's G. Edward Evans Champions Club deck. The Gator team and coaching staff gathered for the event. Joining them at the dinner was UF's 2010 SEC champion soccer team, who claimed their fifth consecutive title on Oct. 29.

Florida claimed a one-point victory over Arkansas at the SEC Cross Country Championship, held Nov. 1 at Hilton Field at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. The title was the second consecutive for the Gators and fifth in the program's history.
A total of five Gators earned All-SEC mention, with Charlotte Browning and Rebecca Lowe earning first team honors while Genevieve LaCaze was named to the All-SEC second team. Two picked up SEC Freshman team honors - Cory McGee and Stephanie Strasser. UF's Todd Morgan was named the SEC Coach of the Year.
