Track and Field Heads to USA Championships

Six University of Florida track and field athletes head to Des Moines, Iowa, this week to participate in the USA Track and Field Championships and USA Track and Field Junior Championships hosted by Drake University at its Drake Stadium.
Senior sprinters R.J. Anderson (Big Pine Key, Fla.) and Calvin Smith (Lutz, Fla.) will compete in the men's 400-meter dash, beginning with the first round on Thursday at 7:35 p.m. ET. Sophomore jumper Christian Taylor (Fayetteville, Ga.), the 2010 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Triple Jump Champion, competes in the triple jump Friday at 7 p.m. ET and the long jump Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
At the USA Junior Championships, freshman jumper Omar Craddock (Kileen, Texas) will compete in the men's triple jump at 2:20 p.m. ET Friday. Freshman sprinter Lanie Whittaker (Miami, Fla.) begins competition in the junior women's 400-meter dash beginning at 1:35 p.m. ET Friday, while freshman Ugonna Ndu (Newark, N.J.) starts the women's junior 400-meter hurdles at 2:50 p.m. ET Friday.
