21 Gators Selected to CSCAA All-Academic Team

The University of Florida swimming and diving program had an impressive 21 student-athletes named to the 2010 College Swimming Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) All-Academic Team. Members of the CSCAA All-Academic Team are selected on the basis of their performance in both the pool and classroom. To be selected to the All-Academic team, swimmers must qualify for the NCAA Championship meet and achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Honorable Mention selections must achieve an NCAA consideration time and a 3.50 GPA or higher.
Of the 21 Gators named to the team, 10 were named to the first team, while 11 were named honorable mention. In addition to its individual student-athlete accolades, the women's swimming and diving squad was named an All-Academic team, posting a 3.35 cumulative GPA. The GPA was up from 3.31 last year, when the Gators led the country with a staggering 35 student-athletes on the team.
The announcement comes three months after a total of 34 swimming and diving University of Florida Gators, including a SEC-high 16 men's swimmers and divers and 18 women's swimming and diving student-athletes, were named to the 2009-10 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll.
