Pairings Announced for Nike Volleyball Big Four Classic

Featuring some of the best early-season volleyball in the nation in 2010, the pairings have been announced for the Nike Big Four Volleyball Classic, to be contested Sept. 10-11 at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
"We are thrilled to be part of this four-year commitment and proud that year one is here in Gainesville," Florida head coach Mary Wise said. "Credit goes to Penn State's Russ Rose for having the vision to create the event and to the other coaches for coming on board. Volleyball fans in the O'Dome will witness some of the best talent, playing for some of the best programs in the country. We appreciate our administration's support in hosting and look forward to the competition come September."
Stanford and Texas will open up the tournament with a 5:30 p.m. ET match on Sept. 10 before the Gators square off with three-time defending NCAA Champion Penn State at 7:30 p.m. in a re-match of last season's NCAA regional semifinal. The UF-PSU match will air tape delayed on Sun Sports at 10:30 p.m. Friday.
The two winners from Friday night's matches will play each other on Saturday, as will the two losers from Friday. Florida's match on Saturday will take place at 4:30 p.m. regardless and will air live on Sun Sports.
