The 2010 Runza/AVCA College Volleyball Showcase will again be broadcast nationally on CBS College Sports Network, it was announced today. The event will take place August 28-29 at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska, and will feature the Florida Gators and SEC Conference foe, the Kentucky Wildcats. Two teams from the Big 12 will also be featured, as the Iowa State Cyclones and the Nebraska Cornhuskers will face off in a “conference challenge” format.
In the second year of this format, Florida and Iowa State will go head-to-head in the Showcase's first match, set for 2 p.m. (CT) on Aug. 28, with Kentucky and Nebraska proceeding at 4:30 p.m. The following afternoon, Iowa State and Kentucky will joust at 2 p.m., and Nebraska will face Florida at 4:30 p.m.
Both of Florida's matches at the AVCA Showcase will air live on CBS College Sports. Larry Puteney will call the play-by-play and former Nebraska All-American Kathi Wieskamp will provide color analysis.
Along with the national broadcast on CBS College Sports Network, the 2010 Runza/AVCA Showcase will be shown regionally on NET, Nebraska's PBS station, who will be producing the event.
