
Bangoura Competes in U.S. Open

Sophomore Sekou Bangoura Jr. (Bradenton, Fla.) and doubles partner Nathan Pasha made their U.S. Open debut on Wednesday, falling 6-3, 6-1 to Jarkko Nieminen and Michael Kohlmann in the first round of the main doubles draw.
The pair earned their bid into the U.S. Open draw by winning the USTA Boys Tennis National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich., in August.
Former Gator Ryan Sweeting and doubles partner Robby Ginepri are slated to play their first-round match on Thursday evening against the No. 13 seeds, Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau.
