
Volleyball Moves To No. 4 in AVCA Poll

On the strength of three wins against top-15 opponents already this season, the University of Florida volleyball team has moved up to No. 4 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll, the Lexington, Ky., based organization announced Monday afternoon.
The Gators, who moved up two spots from last week, will host the Nike Volleyball Big Four Classic this weekend, featuring four of the nation's top five teams. Three-time defending NCAA Champion Penn State is No. 1, Stanford is No. 2, the Gators are No. 4 and Texas checks in at No. 5. Illinois is the nation's third-ranked team.
Florida (5-0), which began the season ranked No. 13, has defeated then-No. 2 Nebraska, then-No. 9 Iowa State and No. 15 Colorado State over the course of its first five matches this season.
The Gators remain one of four teams ranked in the AVCA top-25 as Tennessee (No. 14), Kentucky (No. 16) and LSU (No. 21) all are nationally ranked.
