Coach Troy Assessed the Weekend's Action, Previewed This Weekend's Meet Against Georgia
Monday, October 24, 2011 | Women's Swimming & Diving
University of Florida head coach Gregg Troy addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
With the women's team traveling to Arkansas and winning and select women competing in the SMU Classic in Dallas where they placed second, Troy said it was good for the women to get on the road and face an SEC opponent in their element. Against Arkansas, the Gators did lose some races, but Troy was pleased with how well they handled it and how they made sure not to get too high or too low afterwards. With Georgia being the best women's team in the country, the Gators will need some swimmers to step up and take it to a new level to compete. With the men's team having been training for the past two weeks without competition, it will be good to go against Georgia, which the best team they will face.
The Gators will take to the pool this Friday at 11:00 a.m. when they host SEC rival Georgia at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Natatorium. It will mark the first long course event of the season.
