Florida's Lovett Captures Gold with Record-Setting Finish at Pan American Junior Championships

Florida's Eddie Lovett (West Palm Beach, Fla.) set a new Pan American Junior Championships record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.14 on Saturday evening, highlighting four podium finishes for the Gators this weekend.
Lovett, the 2011 Southeastern Conference indoor 60-meter hurdles champion and U.S. junior 110-meter hurdles champion, ran a career-best 13.03 in the preliminary round on Saturday morning before claiming gold with a record-breaking time of 13.14 on Saturday evening. The previous record was 13.46, set in 2005 by Dayron Robles of Cuba.
Freshman middle distance runner Cory McGee (Pass Christian, Miss.) won the women's 1,500-meter run on Sunday evening with a time of 4:35.46, capturing gold by over a second.
Freshman sprinter Ebony Eutsey (Miami, Fla.) ran the first leg of the women's 4x400-meter relay for the U.S., turning in a time of 3:34.71 to take the gold over Canada by more than four seconds on Sunday evening.
Freshman thrower Fawn Miller (Stoneboro, Pa.), the 2011 Southeastern Conference women's javelin champion, took home silver in the women's javelin with a toss of 47.26m/155-01 on Sunday evening.
