
Pole is the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, Holston Turns in Capital One Cup Impact Performance of Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A 17-dig performance at Tennessee from Florida volleyball senior libero Holly Pole and a double-double on the road at Georgia for sophomore right side Alex Holston highlighted the last week of play for the No. 8 Gators and solidified SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Pole, while Holston was an ESPN Capital One Cup Performance of the Week. The duo led Florida to two sweeps on the road at Georgia in Athens and at Tennessee in Knoxville to extend a season-best 13 match win streak that saw the Orange and Blue improve to 18-3 overall, 12-0 in SEC play.
HIGHLIGHTING POLE
Averaged 4.33 digs per set last week, had five service aces through two matches and zero errors on 32 reception attempts
· Served up a season-best three aces at Georgia, contributing to UF's 11 overall as a team, while scooping up nine digs -- second on the team -- to lead UF's back row efforts in Athens. Pole's 3.0 points against UGA were also a season best
· Turned around and scooped up 17 digs against Tennessee to lead all players on the court, her second-most digs in SEC play to help set up a Gators' offense that hit its best efficiency in conference action (.444), second-best this season
· Tied for the team lead against Georgia and Tennessee with five service aces on the week (0.83/s), now has multiple service aces in three straight matches, with five of her 16 on the season coming in the last week of play
· Had zero reception errors (1.000 reception percentage) in a team-high 32 reception attempts at Georgia and Tennessee and led Florida's back row with 4.33 digs per set last week
· Now ranks third in SEC play with her 0.34 aces per set and fifth in conference play with her 3.89 digs per set
HIGHLIGHTING HOLSTON
Had first career double-double at UGA, registered a .523 clip on week, had five service aces, scored 5.58 points/s, ranked second for UF with 2.33 digs per set
· Notched her first career double-double as a Gator with 12 kills and a career-high 11 digs at Georgia to lead all players on the floor in both categories
· Also served up three of Florida's 11 aces at Georgia, one shy of her career high four
· Slammed down a team-high 14 kills to lead UF past Tennessee Sunday, added another two service aces against UT as Florida registered its best hitting efficiency in conference play (.444), second-best this season, in Knoxville
· Had five of her 19 service aces on the season this past week as UF notched its 12th and 13th straight wins; now has at least one service ace in three consecutive matches
· Hit .526 and .520, respectively, against the Bulldogs and Lady Vols, just her third and fourth matches this season above a .500 hitting efficiency
· Led UF in kills (26), hitting efficiency (.523), service aces (0.83/s), points (5.58/s) and ranked second on the team with 14 digs (2.33/s) in the last week
· After the last week now ranks fourth overall in the SEC this season with 4.16 points/s

The Orange and Blue return to the friendly confines of the Stephen C. O'Connell Center for a two-match home stand when Florida hosts Alabama Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. before the Auburn Tigers visit Gainesville on Wed, Nov. 12, for the second match-up between the two teams this season. The Gators opened the SEC season on the road with Auburn on Sept. 26, a match the Gators swept 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-19).
