No. 16 Gators Take Third at Allstate Intercollegiate with Lowest Tournament Score of the Season

Shooting 858 as a team, No. 16 Florida women's golf recorded their lowest tournament score of the 2013-14 season, the team's best score in four years at English Turn Golf & Country Club and the fifth lowest tournament total in UF women's golf history at the 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship.
Finishing third on the team leaderboard, behind only the two top-ranked women's golf programs in No.2 UCLA and No. 1 Southern Cal, Florida returns home with a third-place finish at one of the elite golf tournaments of the spring season.
Freshman Maria Torres fired a new personal-best round of 69 to finish T3 at a remarkable six-under (210), the lowest tournament score of her collegiate career.
Every Gator in the event, including Karolina Vlckova competing as an individual, recorded at least one even- or under-par round at the Allstate Intercollegiate. Senior Elcin Ulu and junior Camilla Hedberg carded their lowest tournament scores of the season, finishing 219 (+3) and 218 (+2), respectively.
Next up, the Gators will host 14 teams at the annual SunTrust Gator Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “It was a great tournament for us. We put together three solid rounds and played smart golf all week. The girls worked hard after a disappointing finish in California and we saw that pay off this week. I think we will gain a lot of confidence from this finish and the opportunity to play with the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the country.”
