Wednesday, September 24, 2014 | Cross Country
The Florida Gators women's cross country team has announced a change to its schedule. The Gator women have added the Paul Short Run to the schedule, while dropping the Walt Disney Invitational.
The Paul Short Run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Bethlehem, Pa. The race, hosted annually by Lehigh University, features some of the top teams in the country. The Gators are slated to run in the Women's Gold 6K, which is scheduled to start at 11:45 a.m.
By adding the competition to their schedule, the Gators will no longer be running at the Walt Disney Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11. However, the Florida men's cross country team will still compete at the Walt Disney Invitational.
SPANGLER SPEAKS
“The Paul Short Run is a great opportunity to compete with the top teams in the northeast. It is also a great opportunity of earning valuable at-large points toward qualifying for the national championships later in the year.”
-Florida assistant track and cross country coach Paul Spangler
