Gainesville, Fla. – The No. 2-ranked University of Florida women's tennis team will take on its first in-state opponent of the season when the Gators host No. 53 South Florida on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.

The last meeting between the Gators and the Bulls occurred on Jan. 29, 2013 in Gainesville. Florida swept USF, 7-0. The victory marked Florida's 29th consecutive season-opening dual match win.
Florida is coming off a perfect 2-0 weekend. The Gators completed back-to-back 4-0 sweeps, first against Elon and the second versus No. 68 Maryland, during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Gainesville. The wins earned Florida a berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Charlottesville, Va., on Feb. 6 through Feb. 9.
Pick Six:
Six different players on the Florida roster picked up a singles point for the Gators across two matches played last weekend, including two freshmen (Brooke Austin and Peggy Porter) and one newcomer (sophomore transfer Spencer Liang).
Keep the Streak:
Florida has won 136 consecutive regular season home matches – not including SEC Tournament or NCAA Championship events. The current streak is the longest of its kind in program history, passing the 71 in a row between 1994 and 2001. Additionally, UF boasts an overall program-record home winning streak of 135 matches, including 22 postseason victories. The streak is the longest active home win streak of any NCAA Division I women's team in any sport and the second-longest active home win streak on any NCAA Division I team behind the NCAA-record run by the Ohio State men's tennis team of 191.
Home is Where We Win:
Florida boasts an incredible 470-25 all-time home record when playing in Gainesville, including a 12-0 record in 2014.
