
No. 12 Gators Look to Extend Win Streak on the Road at South Carolina, Georgia

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The No. 12 Gators enter the two-match road swing at South Carolina and Georgia on a six-match tear and are hitting their stride at the right time. With sweeps against Arkansas and Missouri last weekend at home, Florida extended a season-best win streak to six contests and jumped to No. 1 in the Oct. 26 RPI rankings.
First up for the Gators, South Carolina (9-13, 2-7 SEC). The Gators and Gamecocks take to the court at 7 p.m. at the Carolina Volleyball Center in the first and only meeting between the two programs this season. Florida has won 16 straight meetings in the history of the series and boasts a 23-5 record all-time in Columbia.
The UF, USC match has been a family affair for the Gators and Gamecocks the last three years as Florida sophomore right side Alex Holston and cousin Darian Dozier, middle blocker for the Gamecocks, will square off for the last time, as Dozier is a senior. On the Florida-Georgia front, it's Florida-Georgia week for the Gators and Dawgs in four different sports: soccer (Thursday), swimming & diving (Friday), football (Saturday) and volleyball (Sunday). Florida and Georgia (5-16, 0-9 SEC) will tilt at 1:30 p.m. on SEC Network + in the Ramsey Center to kick off November.
UF has won 11 consecutive meetings between the Gators and Dawgs and is 24-4 all-time in Athens.
In the big scope of the SEC, Florida sits two games back from leader Kentucky in fourth place with eight matches remaining.

· UF checks in at No. 1 in this week's RPI rankings after playing a gruesome non-conference schedule that included seven straight matches on the road to start the season. Florida is additionally 4-2 against top-25 opponents in 2015
· Florida ranks No. 2 in the nation in hitting efficiency (.314) and No. nine with 2.99 blocks per set entering the weekend set against South Carolina and Georgia. The Gators also rank No. 16 in both kills per set (14.25) and opponent hitting efficiency (.155)
· Gator sophomore middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan paces the nation with 1.86 blocks per set and ranks fourth with her 128 total blocks. Alhassan also checks in ninth in the country in hitting efficiency at .433. Senior middle Simone Antwi ranks 24th in the nation with her .401 clip. Senior setter Mackenzie Dagostino ranks 18th in the NCAA with 11.31 assists per set
· As a team, the Gators lead the SEC overall on the season in hitting efficiency (.314), kills per set (14.25) and blocks per set (2.99). Florida additionally leads the league through conference play in opponent hitting efficiency (.147)
· Florida has 10 sweeps in 2015, six in SEC play and have swept five of its last six matches
· The Gators have posted double-digit blocks in 14 of 19 matches this year with a season high 17 at Kentucky Oct. 18
· UF has limited its opponents to a .200 efficiency or lower on 11 different occasions -- and under .100 six times -- while Florida boasts a season-best efficiency of .517 against Texas A&M on Oct. 9 when the Gators posted their lowest error match of the year (six attack and three service errors)
· Aggressive behind the service line, the Gators have served up four or more aces in all but five matches this season and dropped a season high seven against Sunshine State rival FSU
· UF has been perfect receiving in one match in 2015 (San Diego State)
· Florida is 4-2 against top-25 opponents so far this season, but 0-3 in five-set matches (at Hawaii, at Missouri, at Arkansas)
