JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida returns to the court on Wednesday, December 30, following a nine-day break from competition during the holiday season and aims to continue the momentum it built in compiling an 11-game winning streak.

The Gators square off against UCF at the Southeastern Conference-American Athletic Conference Challenge (SEC-AAC Challenge) held at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Tip-off between the Gators and Knights is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Game 1 of the Challenge features Mississippi State against South Florida at 4:30 p.m.

See you Again Soon!- The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena will play host to the 2016 SEC Tournament, March 2-6.

Team Ties- UCF head coach Joi Williams got her start in the collegiate coaching world as an assistant coach at Florida, where she was a member of Carol Ross' inaugural staff for the 1990-91 season.
- Williams helped the Gators earn nine NCAA Tournament berths during her 12-year tenure. She was on the sidelines all four years current Gator head coach Amanda Butler played at UF (Butler was recruiting by the previous coaching staff), as well as recruited and coached current UF assistant coach Murriel Page, who is in her sixth year wearing a collegiate coaching hat.
- Butler joined Williams on the Gator coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons, when Florida advanced to the 1997 NCAA Elite Eight - and Page was a junior on the team.
- Additionally, UCF Director of Basketball Operations Kim Boes served a similar role at UF for several years before joining Williams' staff for the 2007-08 season.

UF vs. American Athletic Conference- Wednesday's game vs. UCF marks the second team from the AAC on the Gator's non-conference schedule.
- UF lost to Temple, 97-91 in its season-opener on November 13 in Philadelphia.
- The Gators sport 68-16 overall record against team from the current alignment of the AAC, with 24 wins coming against UCF and 35 versus South Florida.

2013 & 2015 GHC was for the Peoples- Florida's Cassie Peoples was named the MVP of the 2013 AND the 2015 Gator Holiday Classic.
- In the 2013 event, she scored a career-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting in the championship game win against FIU.
