COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Well with day one under our belts, I think it is safe to say that the four Gators are ready for the next round of USA Tryouts!!
You come in to this knowing there are going to be a bunch of girls at the same caliber as your own, but the number exceeds thought in reality. There are 250+ girls at this tryout and basically once a day you get a chance to prove yourself to a judging panel. How can you make yourself stand out in a period of an hour and fifty minutes? How can you make yourself different than the several others who are doing the exact same things as you?
The amazing thing about it all is the experience. At the end of the day if you don't achieve the goal you were hoping for, you still had the opportunity to be surrounded by such amazing talent and in turn learn from it. The way you make yourself stand out is how willing you are to soak in the lessons and opportunity you have standing right in front of you here, and I think that is something that the four of us Gators came in knowing.
After one day we are still in the running to follow a dream that we all hope to achieve, and I am very happy I get to share it not only with my four Gator sisters, but also all the other collegiate players who are staying here at the OTC.
While day one is a day to shake out plane legs and knock off the nerves, I think that everyone came in with a want to learn and a want to achieve a similar goal; and that in itself fills the gym with an unimaginable energy that only makes this experience so much more outstanding.
