
Holston, Wise Start Road to Gold with Team USA at World University Games July 4

GWANGJU, South Korea -- The wait is finally over. Florida volleyball two-time All-American and 2014 SEC Player of the Year Alex Holston and Gator head coach Mary Wise will lead the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team at the World University Games as the Red, White and Blue fittingly get competition started at the WUG on Independence Day -- July 4 -- in South Korea.
With a pair of scrimmages and the Opening Ceremonies for the World University Games in the books so far overseas, Team USA will get the competition started Saturday, July 4, against Japan at 3 p.m. local time (2 a.m. ET) at Naju Dongsin University Gymnasium. The squad, announced in March, includes four AVCA All-America First-Team selections from 2014, including Nia Grant (Penn State), Micha Hancock (Penn State), Briana Holman (Nebraska) and Florida's own Holston.
