Florida Volleyball Fan Day, Presented by Active Ankle, Kicks Off at 2 p.m. Saturday in O’Dome

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida volleyball faithful, UF students and Gainesville community will all get their first look at the 2015 Gator volleyball squad Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center as the Orange and Blue take the court at Volleyball Fan Day, presented by Active Ankle.
Admission is free and doors open at 1:30 p.m., with the annual Orange and Blue intrasquad scrimmage slated for 2 p.m. Autographs with both head coach Mary Wise and UF's players will follow the scrimmage at approximately 4 p.m.
“We look forward to Fan Day as it marks our first event shared with Gator fans -- some of the best volleyball fans in the country,” Wise remarked. “We're anxious to introduce the 2015 team and know our fans will be even more excited for the season once they see the players in person."
In addition to the Gators' Orange and Blue scrimmage and autograph session, Alberta will be celebrating her birthday Aug. 22 at Volleyball Fan Day. Participants who wish to join in on Alberta's birthday fun must be a member of the Gator Kids Club. All children are welcome to join the Gator Kids Club on site at the O'Dome to partake in Alberta's birthday celebration.
That's not all! Florida volleyball season tickets will be on sale at Volleyball Fan Day for $35. Fans that purchase season tickets by the end of Saturday's Orange and Blue scrimmage will be entered into a raffle to win a signed volleyball by Mary Wise.
The University Athletic Association will supply 2015 Gator volleyball team posters for coach and athlete autographs; the UAA cannot allow outside items to be brought in to the event due to NCAA compliance issues.
Florida, ranked No. 4 in the AVCA Preseason Top-25 Poll and picked to win the SEC in the Preseason Coaches Poll, hits the road to open the season next week with matches at James Madison and American University Aug. 29 and 30.
