This Team, This Town, This Season: We Are All Gators
Tuesday, September 1, 2015 | Volleyball
Together we are powerful! It's great to be a part of Gator Nation, and the University of Florida volleyball team continually commits itself to giving back to the UF and Gainesville communities that have supported the Gators through decades of success.
This team, this town, this season… we are all Gators!
We want to see YOU in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center this year supporting the Gators. Be a part of something special. This is a team to remember.
The No. 4 Gators have just one last road swing before coming home to the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Sept. 17, and so far Florida is undefeated at 2-0. Don't miss 12 opportunities to see the Orange and Blue in action in the O'Dome.
And don't miss 12 opportunities to interact with 15 engaging student-athletes.
While the volleyball matters day in and day out, it's the big picture that counts most. When it comes to big picture, character building and community involvement are tops for head coach Mary Wise, her staff and the program.
“We use volleyball to grow character… we don't want to be judged by a record, we want to be judged as people. This is a terrific group of people, who also happen to be very talented volleyball players.” -- Head Coach Mary Wise
“It's very rewarding. It's a great community to be a part of and a great community to give back to. Everyone is so grateful when you do something and they also give it back to you, too.” -- Sophomore OH Carli Snyder
You can find the Gators on the court signing autographs after every match, and Sundays are Kids Days! Stop by Kids Corner to meet your favorite mascots, spirit squads, play games, make posters and more!
When Florida volleyball isn't honoring military personnel at 'Saluting Those Who Serve', devoting a match to 'Dig Pink' and many more initiatives, you can find the Gators out in the community volunteering. Take the Gators' first morning off in preseason camp: all 15 athletes designed signs for returning students at Idylwild Elementary to welcome children back on the first day of school.
Every Thanksgiving? You can find the Gators at UF Health selflessly spreading joy to other families who aren't able to enjoy Thanksgiving at home.
PACE Center for Girls. Girl's Place. All organizations dear to Wise and the Gators.
Together, we are powerful… as a Gainesville community we are powerful.
This team, this town, this season… we are all Gators! We are all family.
See you in the O'Dome.
