Spencer Liang advanced to the singles quarterfinals at the Freeman Memorial Tennis Championships
Gators Find Success in Freeman Memorial Tennis Championships

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 3-ranked University of Florida women's tennis team continued preparation for the 2016 season at the 14th annual Freeman Memorial Tennis Championship in Las Vegas, Nev. Three Gators have advanced to the singles main draw quarterfinal.
No. 51-ranked Brianna Morgan, No. 73-ranked Spencer Liang and No. 110-ranked Anna Danilina each advanced to the singles main draw quarterfinal. Liang grabbed the upset victory over the No. 28-ranked Beatrice Capra of Duke by default. Newcomer Danilina defeated No. 68-ranked Jessica Aney of UNC, 7-5, 6-3.
In doubles action, both UF tandems advanced to the quarterfinal. Liang and Peggy Porter defeated Stanford's Wolak and Yao, 6-1 and No. 50-ranked Danilina and Morgan swept Capra and Harris of Duke, 6-0.
The Gators continue match play tomorrow morning.
