Bergh’s Return Lifts Gators at NCAA Pre-Nationals

In her first meet since September, Elisabeth Bergh posted the fourth-fastest time by a Gator at NCAA Pre-Nationals since 2002
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – In her first meet since Sep. 2, sophomore Elisabeth Bergh led the Florida women's cross country team to a 14th-place finish at NCAA Pre-Nationals, while senior Carlos Miranda once again paced the men's team, which finished 27th overall.
Bergh crossed in 20:51.8, the fourth-fastest time in UF's 11 trips to this meet since 2002, to take 35th place. The Haugesund, Norway native's finish was 71 spots higher than her finish at NCAA Pre-Nationals last season.
Senior Taylor Tubbs (64th), who took 165th at this meet last year, and freshman Jessica Pascoe (81st) also logged top-100 finishes, helping the Gators score an upset over No. 22 Virginia.
Miranda placed 55th overall on the men's side, 118 spots higher than he finished a year ago. Sophomore Magnus Pettersen continued his recent string of solid performances with an 87th-place finish.
