Elisabeth Bergh is the first Gator since 2013 to earn an All-SEC First Team honor
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Florida men's and women's cross country teams both finished eighth at the SEC Championship, hosted by the University of Arkansas on Friday (Oct. 28) morning.
Sophomore Elisabeth Bergh led all Gators with a sixth-place finish, earning All-SEC First Team honors. Bergh is the first Gator since Agata Strausa (2013) to collect a first-team accolade.
Freshman Jessica Pascoe (32nd) and senior Taylor Tubbs (37th) also collected top-40 finishes for the Gators. Pascoe placed seventh among freshmen, earning her the final spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
On the men's side, redshirt senior Mac Reynolds crossed first for UF, placing 19th overall. Sophomore Jack Guyton, who took 47th overall, was the only other Gator to finish inside the top 50.
Freshman Colin Schaefer finished 54th overall and sixth among freshmen to collect an SEC All-Freshman Team laurel.
This year is only the third time since 2005 the Gators failed to crack the top five of the women's team standings, and it is the third time since 1997 UF's men finished outside the top five.
