TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The UF men's tennis team is off to the Seminoles' stomping grounds this weekend to compete in the 2016 ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle. Florida State University is hosting the event this year, welcoming 16 schools from the Southeastern region to the competition. The qualifying rounds of the singles competition begins on Thursday morning, while the main draw will commence on Friday morning.

Of the nine athletes representing the Gators, five of them were ranked in the top 15 of their respective draw, with Chase Perez-Blanco and Elliott Orkin both earning seeds in the top 10.

Format & Scoring

No-ad scoring will be used in all ITA singles and doubles matches in the fall season.
In all 2016 ITA Regional Championships events a doubles match must consist of a minimum of an 8-game pro set (tiebreak at 7-all), with the semifinals and finals doubles matches consisting of two out of three sets, with a Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set.
