Blue Takes Game 1 of #OBseries

The Blue team opened the 2016 Orange & Blue World Series with an 8-1 win on Wednesday evening at McKethan Stadium. The opening game was a shortened six-inning contest.
The annual series signals the culmination of fall practices. Game two of the series is scheduled for Friday at 3:45 p.m. with the finale on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Junior Mike Rivera paced the Blue team's offense on Wednesday with four RBI. He started the game with a three run homer in the opening inning. Fellow junior Mark Kolozsvary added a two run home run later in the same inning.
Rivera added another RBI in the second inning to make it 6-0.
The Orange team got on the board with an RBI single from freshman Andrew Baker, who also had a double in the game.
Freshman Keenan Bell's two-run double in the fourth gave the Blue team an 8-1 lead.
On the mound, the Blue team's Tyler Dyson allowed one run over three innings while senior Frank Rubio pitched three scoreless to close it out.
Sophomore Eddy Demurias (3 IP, 6 R) and redshirt freshman MacGregor Hines (3 IP, 2 R) pitched for the Orange team.
