ATLANTA -- The University of Florida women's swimming and diving team saved it's best for last on Saturday in the fourth and final day of competition at the 2016 NCAA Championships. The Gators sent five swimmers into tonight's finals and generated 28 points, which in turn, propelled the Orange and Blue to a 19th-place finish as they finalized the 2015-16 season.
Overall, eight Florida women will be leaving Atlanta with All-America Honors. In addition, the Gators registered seven season-best times while renewing one school record.
Senior diver, Kahlia Warner, had key contributions to UF's success with a pair of All-American finishes which brought in 29 team points. The Queensland, Australia, native dove to a sixth-place finish off the 1-Meter on Thursday night and followed up on Friday with a third-place showing on the 3-Meter. In doing so, she reset Florida's all-time 3-Meter record with a score of 387.20.
In the pool, senior Natalie Hinds had just as strong of a week, swimming to two All-America Honors on Thursday (50-Yard Freestyle) and Saturday night (100-Yard Freestyle). The Midland, Texas, native played a vital role in UF's accomplishments this week as she was active in seven races and helped total 25.5 team points.
Senior Jessica Thielmann and Junior Taylor Katz also contributed to Saturday's scoring effort with a pair of All-America finishes. Thielmann swam an 11th-place finish in the 1,650 Freestyle (16:03.11) while Katz competed in the 200-Yard Butterfly event, touching out with a 14th-place time of 1:56.54.
The Gators final points came in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay event, where the quartet of sophomore Amelia Maughan and seniors Hinds, Ashlee Linn, and Lindsey McKnight posted a time of 3:15.07. The relay finished 14th overall and generated six points.
Quick-Cap: Day Four Prelims
Altogether, 11 Gators competed throughout four individual events on Saturday afternoon with the addition of the team's 400-Yard Freestyle relay -- which concluded the afternoon's preliminary swimming events.
Hinds was UF's top finisher from Day Four preliminary events after competing in the 100-Yard Freestyle and touching out with a fourth-place time of 47.51, which sent her into tonight's 'A' final. Sophomore Amelia Maughan also competed in the event and clocked a time of 49.80 to finish 56th in the field.
Katz had a strong showing in the 200-Yard Butterfly event, swimming a prelim time of 1:55.55 which marked a season-best for the Sarasota, Florida, native.

Five heats of the 1,650-Yard freestyle concluded today's preliminary swimming events. Newcomer Hannah Burns, who was just one of eight freshman invited, also qualified in the event and clocked a time of 16:38.06.
In the diving well, senior Kahlia Warner's historic diving career at Florida came to a close. Although she didn't qualify for tonight's finals session, the Queensland, Australia, native put together a strong showing and finished 19th overall with a score of 240.25. Warner will leave the 2016 NCAA Championships with two All-American honors after placing sixth on the 1-Meter on Thursday, and third off the 3-Meter on Friday night.

Florida Head Coach Gregg Troy
On the Week:
"We had a good day today. We started off a little slow this week but we continued to improve each day. We raced tough today and swam a fantastic relay event. Natalie Hinds came up a little short of where she would have liked to finish but it was a tremendous race.
"We also had some good mile times out of our girls -- Jessica Thielmann swam an exceptional race. We certainly got better as the days went.
On the senior Class:
"I'm going to miss this group of seniors, they're a good group of girls. They've shown a lot of comradery and a lot of focus over the years. I'm proud of what they've done - they've been great Gators for four years."
Florida Head Diving Coach Dale Schultz:
On the performance this week:
"Kahlia started out very strong today but just missed two dives - it happens. Overall this past month, she's had some really tremendous performances. If you look at her springboard performances at the SEC, Zone Diving, and NCAA meet, she's missed one dive. She's had a tremendous senior year and a remarkable career.
"Without question, she's going to make a void that's very tough to fill. She owns all the school records and has achieved countless accomplishments.
"It's been an honor and a privilege to coach her and I know (the late) Donnie Craine is looking down on her and he's extremely proud of her.
"After the meet, I thanked her for her years, effort, and buying into the program and the opportunity to coach her these past two years."
