Gators Excited to Host Pepsi Florida Relays, Face Olympic Hopefuls, Past Olympians

Four-time World Champion, two-time Olympic medalist Kerron Clement, four-time World Champion and 2012 Olympic silver medalist Tony McQuay, and 2016 World Indoor Champion Marquis Dendy headline the Gator alums competing at Pepsi Florida Relays
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 72nd annual Pepsi Florida Relays will be hosted by the University of Florida track and field program at Percy Beard Track, located inside James G. Pressly Stadium, this weekend (March 31-April 2).
Year after year, the Pepsi Florida Relays has been one of the nation's premier track and field events, and this year will be no different. In addition to the collegiate competition, which features eight men's teams and 10 women's teams ranked in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Computer Rankings, numerous professional clubs, past Olympians and World Champions, and Olympic hopefuls from across the globe will take part in the 2016 edition of the meet.
In total, over 270 college, club, and professional teams and another 330-plus high school teams, amounting to over 4,200 competitors, will run at this year's Pepsi Florida Relays.
Florida will also hold its senior day ceremony on Saturday (April 2) at 3:45 p.m. ET.
The Gators, ranked No. 3 on the men's side and No. 10 on the women's side, most recently competed at the Power Conference Cardinal & Gold Challenge.
During its two days in Los Angeles, Florida athletes posted nine marks and times to its all-time outdoor top 10, including two NCAA-leading times and seven East Region-leading marks. Shayla Sanders, who ran the nation's quickest 100 meters and fastest wind-legal 200 meters time was the USTFCCCA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week.
SEC Network + will provide live streaming for the second and third days of competition, starting at 12 p.m. ET on Friday (April 1) and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday (April 2). Spectator information can be found in this release.
