BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The new No. 5 Florida Gators are 12-1 on the season, 2-0 in SEC play and riding a 12-match win streak into Wednesday's SEC clash against Kentucky at home in the Lemerand Center. They'll take on the Wildcats with the SEC Freshman of the Week Rachael Kramer, who leads the league in hitting efficiency (.596), and SEC Defensive Player of the Week Caroline Knop, who averaged six digs per set to open league play last weekend.

Kramer, who has started Florida's last seven matches, has skyrocketed to the top of the SEC overall (.596) and conference (.613) standings in hitting efficiency since a breakout performance at No. 13 Florida State Sept. 14. The 6-8 middle has just six errors in 94 swings this season and posted a career best .727 clip in the sweep of Alabama Sunday.
At the net, Kramer and company are helping Knop patrol the back row with quality touches. The Gators' junior libero from Pasadena had a staggering 31 digs against Ole Miss Friday in Florida's SEC opener on the way to her 6.00 digs per set last weekend. Knop ranks second in the SEC through the first weekend of league play in digs per set and has 10 double-digit dig efforts on the season so far.
Kramer, Knop and the Gators square off with the Wildcats Wednesday at 8 p.m.

- Continues to stabilize the Gators back-row efforts and through the first weekend of SEC play is averaging 6.00 digs per set, which ranks second in the conference
- Knop's 31 digs at Ole Miss were a career high and just two shy of a top-five ranking all-time in a single match in UF history
- Her 31 digs against the Rebels were the most in a match this season among all players in the SEC
- Turned around and again led the Gators in digs at Alabama (11) to post her seventh straight double-digit dig effort of the season (10th overall)
KRAMER WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS
- Has now started seven straight matches at middle blocker for the Gators and had yet another career weekend as UF opened SEC play 2-0
- Posted a career high 12 kills and 14.5 points at Ole Miss, then turned around and turned in a .727 hitting efficiency against Alabama, a new career best for her
- As just a freshman, has escalated to the top hitting efficiency in the SEC overall on the season (.596) and now ranks third in blocks per set (1.34)
- Also leads the SEC through the first weekend of conference play in hitting efficiency (.613)
