Gator Sound Bites:
On getting a win after Thursday's loss:
"I thought it was a really relaxed vibe during the game. We were able to keep possession the way we wanted but we also had a great intensity about us defensively in terms of tracking back and double teaming. Overall, I thought it was a really good effort. "
– Florida Head Coach Becky Burleigh
Hear from the goal scorers:
Goal one:
"I made my run into the box and waited at the far post. Luckily Sammie's (
Sammie Betters) ball got to me. I was really composed and made sure I was really ready and finished it."" – sophomore
Melanie Monteagudo
Goal two:
"I remember seeing Mich (
Sarah Troccoli) taking the ball down. Savannah (Jordan) was in front of me and she jaxed it. It was kind of an ugly goal 'cause I only got a little dink on it, but a goal's a goal." – freshman
Kit Loferski
Goal three:
"It is kind of blur, to be honest but I remember running up the field. There was an open space at the top of the box. I saw Mel (
Melanie Monteagudo) running to the ball. When I saw that open spot, I just had a feeling that this could be a good moment to score. In past games I've had that moment but I got too excited. Mel held the ball and I was screaming for it and she sent a good pass. I just looked up, saw a little separation between the defenders, took a shot and it went in." – freshman
Julia Lester
