Three Gators turned in two goals Sunday - including Savannah Jordan. She is now tied for second on UF's all-time list at 71.

STILLWATER, Okla. – Goals were aplenty Sunday afternoon as the University of Florida soccer team put in seven goals to take a 7-2 win over Oklahoma State at the Cowboy Soccer Complex.

How the Match Unfolded:
It was a tale of two halves. After a scoreless opening half, sophomore Melanie Monteagudo put in her first goal of the day in the 48^th minute. Just under five minutes later, senior All-American Savannah Jordan used a 20-yard shot to score her first goal of the day. Less than three minutes later, Monteagudo put in a ball mishandled by the OSU goalkeeper to put the Gators up 3-0 after an eight-minute scoring flurry.

OSU Courtney Dike scored at 63:06, but Gator freshman Kit Loferski scored her first collegiate goal just 50 seconds later to push the lead back out to three goals.

Jordan scored her second goal of the day in the 68^th minute. That goal was the 71^st of her collegiate career, moving her into a tie with Andi Sellers (1997-01) for second on the Gators Career Goals Chart.

Another Cowgirl goal, this time from Haley Woodard, finished the OSU scoring in the 79^th minute. OSU's Elise Hawn received a red card at 79:11, forcing the Cowgirls to play the final 10 minutes a man down.

Sophomore Mayra Pelayo scored the final two goals of the match. Her first goal in the 80^th minute was a 19-yard free kick awarded on the red card and then she hit an angled shot in the 88^th minute.

Worth Noting

Seven goals in a half is a first in the 22-year history of the Gator program. Eight times, Florida has scored six goals in a half, with the last coming in an Oct. 26, 2001 home win versus Mississippi State (6-0). Only once has Florida scored six goals on the road and that was a 7-2 win at No. 20 Maryland on Oct. 21, 1998.
Three Gators turned in a pair of goals Sunday – Monteagudo, Jordan and Pelayo. It was the first multiple goal matches of Monteagudo and Pelayo's collegiate careers, Jordan has turned in multi-goal matches 18 times as a Gator.
Jordan's two goals and two assists Sunday moved her into sole possession of third on the Gators Career Points Chart at 166 (71 goals, 24 assists). She is also tied for second on the Gator Career Goals Chart at 71. The Gators' career leader for goals and points is Abby Wambach (1998-01, 96 goals, 242 points).
Today's match is the third of a five match road stretch for Florida. The Gators were to play at No. 1 Florida State Friday, but Hurricane Hermine's impact on the Tallahassee area caused the match to be canceled.

On her overall thoughts on today's match…
"It was the tale of two halves for sure. The first half was kind of slow and not much was going on. We talked at halftime about being patient and doing what we needed to do to get them out of the shape they were in. I thought we did a pretty good job of that. Allen [Kirkup, UF assistant coach] said at halftime 'if we score one, we'll score five'. He was a little bit off, but it was great to have the opportunity to get some goals in the back of the net." - head coach Becky Burleigh

On her first collegiate goal:
"They put me outside at the three, which was actually one of the first times I had ever done it. I made a direct run straight at the goal. I made direct eye contact with Sav [Savannah Jordan] and she said 'keep going, keep going' so I made that run. I got the ball past the backline and I put it in the back of the net.

"At first I thought I was offsides because no one really reacted. But then the ref blew his whistle and I thought 'oh my gosh, I just scored! It's so exciting!" - freshman Kit Loferski

Preseason Conference Votes:
Florida swept the 2015 SEC regular-season titles. Oklahoma State was eighth in the 2015 Big 12 regular-season standings.
Florida – The Gators are picked to win the 2016 Southeastern Conference title.
OSU – The Cowgirls are picked to take fifth in the 2016 Big 12 Conference race.

Rankings:
Florida is ranked No. 5 on the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.

Next up:
Florida continues road action Thursday, Sept. 8 when opens SEC play at Kentucky (2-2-1). The Wildcats come into Thursday's match on a two-match win streak, with a 3-1 win at Louisville on Friday and 3-0 home win over High Point on Sunday. Thursday's match time is set for 7 p.m. ET at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. This match kicks off SEC Network soccer coverage for the 2016 season as Gator Great Heather Mitts and Jen Hildreth will call Thursday's action.

Last year, the two teams tied 1-1 2OT in Gainesville. Florida has lost in its last two trips to Lexington – 2014 (2-0) and 2012 (2-1).
