Florida is looking to extend the fourth-best start in program history
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida, the nation's only remaining undefeated team, hosts Texas A&M in a televised match Wednesday (Oct. 4) night. First serve both inside Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center and on ESPNU is set for 7 p.m.
The top-ranked Gators are coming off sweeps of Tennessee and LSU last weekend, propelling them to an 11-0 overall record. It is the fourth-best start in program history, behind only 16-0 starts in 1987 and 2007, as well as a 28-0 start in 1995.
Florida also enters Wednesday night with a 3-0 record in Southeastern Conference play. Only the Gators and No. 10 Kentucky are unbeaten in league matches.
Head coach Mary Wise, now in her 27th season with the Gators and 31st overall as a head coach, enters the match with 886 career victories, tied for the eighth-most in Division I history. A win would break a tie with BYU legend Elaine Michaelis for the most wins by a female head coach in Division I volleyball history.
Wednesday night's radio broadcast (ESPN Gainesville 98.1 FM / 850 AM) features longtime play-by-play announcer Tom Collett and Josh Crow.
