Kramer picked up her first weekly honor since the season's opening week
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Middle blocker Rachael Kramer was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Kramer totaled 14 blocks and hit .306 for the top-ranked Gators, who beat Texas A&M in four sets and swept Georgia last week.
Kramer's blocking was key in limiting Georgia to a .075 hitting percentage, marking the fourth time this year Florida held its opponent under a .100 clip. That match helped the Gators rise to sixth nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.139).
Her 2.00 blocks per set average from last week also moved Kramer to eighth in the SEC (1.15 per set). The Phoenix, Ariz., native continues to lead the SEC and rank sixth nationally in hitting percentage (.434) as well.
Florida (13-0, 5-0 SEC) continues league play Friday and Sunday against Ole Miss and No. 8 Kentucky. Friday's match in Oxford, Miss. will be streamed via SEC Network +. Sunday's match inside Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center will be the third top-10 matchup in SEC history, and SEC Network will provide television coverage. Both matches will also feature radio broadcasts on ESPN Gainesville 98.1 FM / 850 AM.
