Gators Cap Three-Match Road Stint at Tennessee

Sunday will be the Gators' sixth road match since Oct. 13.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Florida, back in a tie for first place in the Southeastern Conference standings following its sweep of No. 6 Kentucky Wednesday night, heads to Tennessee for a third consecutive road match Sunday.

This will be the No. 4 Gators' sixth road match in their last eight outings, though their numbers have not suffered during the stretch. Four of their 10 matches with a .300 clip this season have come since a trip to Ole Miss (Oct. 13), and Kentucky is the only team to hit above .115 against the Gators in that time frame.

With its win Wednesday night, just the fifth sweep of a top-10 team in a road match this year, the Gators became the only team in the nation to win three matches against teams currently ranked in the top six of the NCAA RPI. Florida is also the only team in the country to defeat three top-six opponents (based on AVCA ranking on date of match).

Moreover, this is only the third time in program history (1997, 2010) the Gators have beaten three top-10 opponents during the regular season.
