GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida cross country team is set to compete at the 2017 NCAA South Regional Championships in Tuscaloosa, Friday (Nov. 10) morning.

This season's meet will be held at the Harry Pritchett Running Park, with the women scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and the men shortly after at 11 a.m.

It has been a year of firsts for Florida, and that trend will continue tomorrow, as 12 of the 14 student-athletes competing will be running in this particular race for the first time. Caitlin McQuilkin-Bell's will compete in her third NCAA regional meet and Jessica Pascoe is set to make her second appearance.

The youthful Gators have made strides in each race this season. At the SEC Championships, a trio of men surpassed or nearly equaled their personal best times on a course rolling with hills. Marshall Dillon paced the men with a personal record time of 25:03.90 to earn a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.

For Florida to advance to the NCAA Championships next weekend (Nov. 18), they will need to be one of the top two teams to finish in the region or receive an at-large bid. Individual selections will be decided after the teams have been determined.
