SUNSET, S.C. – Maria Torres and Taylor Tomlinson paced the Florida women's golf team in the first round of the Clemson Invitational on Friday. Both Gators finished the day in a tie for seventh place at one-under (71).
Overall as a team, UF ended the day in third place at one-over (289).
Carlotta Ricolfi and Karolina Vlckova both sit inside the top-20 as they sit tied for 15th (even-par, 72) and tied for 18th (one-over, 73), respectively.
Ricolfi is competing as an individual this weekend.
Furman's leading the tournament at three-under (285), and Furman's Alice Chen is at the top of the leaderboard at four-under (68).

On the Gators' First Round…
"I thought we handled ourselves well today. Conditions were tough, with swirling winds and a very wet golf course. We stayed patient for the most part and showed a lot of maturity in our finish. It's a tight leaderboard and we are looking forward to a fun weekend."
