
Three Gators Make Evening Session of Phillips 66 National Championships

D’Arrigo Places Fifth in 400m Free A Final; Ault Wins 400m Free C Final
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three Florida swimmers made the evening session on Day 4 of the Phillips 66 National Championships, with alum Mitch D'Arrigo leading the way with an A Final Appearance.
Alum Mitch D'Arrigo earned his spot in Friday evening's A Final after swimming a 3:50.74 in the 400m Free. D'Arrigo placed fifth in the A Final, finishing with a time of 3:50.61.
Close behind D'Arrigo in the prelims was Ben Lawless, who posted a time of 3:54.70 in his heat. Grant Sanders and Drew Clark each appeared in the 400m Free as well, finishing with times of 4:00.22 and 4:05.81, respectively.
Three Gators kicked off the day in the Women's 400m Freestyle event, with Taylor Ault earning her spot into the C Final. She swam a strong final, posting a 4:12.33, defeating the rest of the C Final field by almost a second.
Ault finished the preliminary round with a time of 4:14.82 and finishing behind her were Autumn Finke and Savanna Faulconer. Finke posted a time of 4:17.71 in heat 3, while Faulconer followed up in heat 4 with a 4:18.47.
Chandler Bray earned a spot in the 100m Breaststroke B Final after shaving off 1.5 seconds from his seedtime, finishing the prelim with a 1:01.83. The soon-to-be sophomore finished 12th overall and 4th in the B Final with a time of 1:02.02.
The other Gator men competing were Ross Palazzo, Stanley Wu, Brennan Balogh and Maxime Rooney. Palazzo and Wu finished the 100m Breaststroke with times of 1:03.28 and 1:04.19, respectively.
Balogh and Rooney both swam in the 100m Backstroke, with Rooney leading the way with a time of 56.51. Balogh followed closely behind in heat 4, posting a time of 57.09.
The other women competing on the day were Rachel Ramey and Sydney Sell. Ramey swam a 1:11.56 in her heat of the 100m Breaststroke, while Sell posted a time of 1:02.48 in the 100m Backstroke.
Tomorrow's final day of competition is slated for a 9 a.m. start, beginning with the women's 200m Individual Medley.
