David set a personal best and recorded the No. 3-ranked mark on the program's All-Time Outdoor Top 10 (6.56 meters / 21 feet, 6.25 inches) to take the long jump crown. Earlier in the week, the Lamentin, Gauadeloupe native, who represented France, tied her personal record (13.78 meters / 45 feet, 2.5 inches) and finished fourth in the triple jump.
Vedel set a personal record and lowered the Danish U23 400 meters record to 45.85 seconds in the semifinals. In the final, Vedel clocked a time of 46.08 seconds.

The Norrahammar, Sweden native, however, did not achieve the world standard, which is 76.00 meters.
