Florida Volleyball Fan Day Set for August 19 in O’Dome

Don't miss out on your chance to see the Gators play in the new O'Dome for the first time!
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida volleyball fans, University of Florida students, and the Gainesville community can see the 2017 Gators in action for the first time in two weeks (Saturday, Aug. 19), as they host Volleyball Fan Day inside the new-look Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Admission is free and doors open at 2 p.m., and first serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. Autographs with head coach Mary Wise and UF student-athletes will follow the exhibition match.
An NCAA rule change also permits the Gators to play an actual opponent, rather than simply hosting their traditional intrasquad scrimmage. This year's Orange & Blue Debut will be a variable-set exhibition match against Costal Carolina.
Florida Football Fan Day will take place from 2-4 p.m. in the Indoor Practice Facility, and Gator fans are encouraged to take the quick walk over to the O'Dome to partake in Volleyball Fan Day as well.
The University Athletic Association will supply 2017 Florida volleyball team posters for coach and athlete autographs. The UAA cannot allow outside items to be brought in to the event due to NCAA compliance rules.
Also, a limited number of season tickets are still available to the general public for the 2017 season.
The Gators, picked to win the SEC, will play 18 home matches this season, nine of which will be against 2016 NCAA Tournament qualifiers. That group includes 2016 NCAA semifinalists Texas and Nebraska as part of the season-opening VERT Challenge (Aug. 25-26).
Season ticket holders will have the added benefit of attending non-Florida VERT Challenge matches played by Nebraska, Oregon, and Texas at no additional charge.
