
Baqlah wins the 200 Free with the fastest time in the NCAA this season.

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 8 Florida Gators returned to the pool on Friday, Oct. 19, against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the No. 4 Indiana Hoosiers. Khader Baqlah recorded the fastest-time in the nation in the 200 Free to lead the Gators, but Florida trails Texas 98-88 and Indiana 119-67.
The Florida 400 Medley Relay team of Bayley Main, Marco Guarente, Maxime Rooney, and Baqlah combined for a time of 3:14.19.
Baqlah was back in the pool for the 200 Free and posted the fastest time in the nation this season. Baqlah swam a 1:34.84. Kieran Smith finished third for Florida with a 1:36.33 and Trey Freeman
came in fourth with a time in 1:37.70.
In the 100 Back, Main clocked a time of 48.36 on his way to a third-place finish. Rooney placed fifth with a 48.73.
With a time of 55.22, Stanley Wu placed second in the 100 Breast. Guarente added a fourth-place finish with a swim of 55.60.
Grant Sanders posted a time of 1:47.64 on his way to a third-place finish in the 200 Fly. His time is the second fastest by a Florida swimmer this season.
In the 50 Free, Rooney clocked the third-fastest time of the meet with a mark of 20.30. Will Davis placed sixth with a time of 20.47.
Freeman earned his first podium of the night in the 1000 Free, as he came in second with a time of 9:07.48. Robert Finke added a sixth-place finish with a swim of 9:16.66.
Sanders added another podium finish as he posted the country's second-fastest in the 200 IM and finished second. Sanders' time is also an NCAA B cut. Smith collected a third-place time of 1:48.07.
The team of Rooney, Will Davis, Main, and Viktor Toth placed fourth with a combined time of 1:20.95. Isaac Davis, Baqlah, Dakota Mahaffey, and Christoph Margotti finished with a fifth-place time of 1:21.68.
