AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 14 Florida Gators defeated the Auburn Tigers in four sets on Sunday afternoon.
The Gators move to 21-5 on the year and 12-2 in the SEC, while Auburn drops to 10-15 on the year and 3-12 in the league.
Each of the four sets ended in a 25-21 score with Florida winning the first set and second sets, 25-21. Auburn took set number three, 25-21, but Florida clinched the match with a 25-21 victory in the final set.
Paige Hammons paced the Gators' offense, finishing with a career-best 17 kills during the match. That surpassed her previous career-high of 16, which was set just one match ago against Arkansas.
Rachael Kramer also registered 10 kills for Florida, hitting .304 on the afternoon.
Allie Monserez led the team setting, registering 25 assists. Marlie Monserez posted nine assists of her own in the match.
Allie Gregory controlled the backcourt defense for Florida, posting 17 digs on the day.
As a squad, the Gators registered 10 blocks, including a team-best five from Taelor Kellum.
Allie Monserez posted her 11th double-double of the season, recording 25 assists and 11 digs.
The Gators return to action on Friday when the team faces LSU in Exactech Arena at 7 p.m.

How It Happened
- Auburn took the 15-14 lead into the media timeout of the first set, but the Gators came out on a 3-0 run to take the 17-15 lead. The Tigers got within one at 20-19, but Allie Monserez led the Gators on a three-point service run to take a 23-19 lead. Florida closed out the frame on a kill from at Holly Carlton to go up 1-0 in the match.
- The Gators hit .212 in the first set, racking up 11 kills, while taking advantage of 14 Auburn errors. Mia Sokolowski registered four kills in the frame, while Paige Hammons added three.
- The second frame was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams and once again, Auburn took the 15-14 lead into the media timeout. The Tigers got up as much as 18-15, but the Gators came storming back with a 7-1 run to take the 22-19 lead late. The Gators were able to hold on in the final points and take the 2-0 lead in the match.
- Florida hit .237 in the second set and held the Tigers to a .167 hit clip. Rachael Kramer posted seven kills in the frame and Paige Hammons added three.
- The Gators tied the third set at 11-11, but could never gain the lead in the frame, falling 25-21. Florida battled to within three points at 24-21 after consecutive Auburn errors, but the Tigers closed it out with a kill to force a fourth set.
- UF only hit .138 in the third frame with 13 kills. Paige Hammons led the way with six, while Taelor Kellum added three.
- With the score tied 15-15 in the fourth set, Florida was able to create a bit of distance to take a 20-17 lead. Auburn pulled to within two points at 23-21, but back-to-back kills by Paige Hammons and Allie Monserez clinched the win and moved Florida to 12-2 in the SEC.
- The Gators only hit .103 in the fourth set, but the team held Auburn to a .053 hit clip to secure the victory. Paige Hammons posted five kills in the frame on 10 swings.
- Just one match after setting a career-high 16 kills, Paige Hammons surpassed that mark with 17 on the afternoon
