Gators Headed to NCAA Cross Country Championships
Friday, November 16, 2018 | Cross Country
MADISON, Wis. – The Florida women will end their cross country season at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 17).
The group features SEC Champion and Women's Runner of the Year, Jessica Pascoe. Pascoe has been the Gators' top runner all season, notching three individual titles and two runner-up finishes, most recently finishing second at the NCAA South Region Championships. She ran the fastest 6k time by any Florida women's runner at the SEC Championships, winning the race by almost five seconds.
Redshirt junior Elisabeth Bergh and redshirt senior Morgan Hull earned All-SEC Second Team and All-South Region honors, with their top-15 finishes at both the conference and regional meets.
Imogen Barrett, a freshman, also earned an all-region status. Barrett has established herself as one of the Gators' consistent scorers. She finished 32nd at the conference meet and followed that with a 21st place finish at the regional race. Senior Caitlin McQuilkin-Bell missed All-SEC and all-region honors by a combined total of eight places, but has recorded five top-30 finishes this season and solidified her place as one of Florida's top five.
The Gators' depth helped them finish second at the NCAA South Regional Championship and secure Florida's first berth for the national meet since 2012.
FloTrack will have streaming coverage for the NCAA Championships, though a paid subscription is required.
