
Florida-Tennessee to Face Off Wednesday

The Gators and the Lady Vols are currently tied for second in the SEC with two matches to go

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 13 Florida Gators travel to No. 22 Tennessee to take on the Lady Vols on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.
The match will air on the SEC Network +, with Roger Hoover and Heather Harrington on the call.
Florida (23-5, 14-2) and Tennessee (23-5, 14-2) are tied for second in the SEC, behind the Kentucky Wildcats with just two matches remaining in the regular season.
This is the third of four matches this week for the Gators – UF topped LSU 3-0 on Friday night, then followed with a sweep of Georgia on Sunday. Florida's final regular season match comes on Friday, when the team faces South Carolina at Exactech Arena.
The Gators hold the 50-12 series advantage over the Lady Vols, including a 46-7 record under head coach Mary Wise.
Florida swept Tennessee the last time these two teams met on Nov. 5, 2018 in Knoxville, Tenn. UF won the first set, 25-23, then followed with a 25-19 win in the second frame. The Gators then closed out the match with a 25-20 victory in the final set.
The blocking proved to be the determining factor for Florida, with the Gators racking up 13 as a team to Tennessee's four. Rachael Kramer posted a team-best seven in the match, followed by six from Rhamat Alhassan.
Kramer also posted 11 kills on the evening, hitting .333 overall. Carli Snyder and Shainah Joseph were both in double-figure kills as well, finishing with 12 and 10, respectively.
Allie Monserez controlled the setting game for the Gators, dishing out 27 assists. She also recorded 11 digs to give her a double-double in the match.
Florida is looking to continue its streak of winning at least 24 matches in a season, which they have done for 28 consecutive years.
