
Florida Closes Out Regular Season Against South Carolina

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 13 Florida Gators close out their regular season schedule with a home match against South Carolina on Friday evening. This match will serve as Senior Night for both Allie Monserez and Taelor Kellum.
Florida (23-6, 14-3) currently sits third in the league, while South Carolina (19-8, 10-7) is fifth in the SEC.
Friday's match will air on the SEC Network + with Tom Collett and Josh Crow on the call.
This is the fourth match is seven days for the Gators – the team swept both LSU and Georgia during the stretch, but fell to Tennessee on Wednesday.
UF holds the 56-7 series advantage over the Gamecocks, including a 51-2 record under head coach Mary Wise.
Florida defeated South Carolina the last time the two teams met on Oct. 12, 2018 in Columbia. UF won the first set, 25-17, then followed that up with a 25-15 win in the second set. South Carolina took the next two sets, 25-18 and 26-24 to force a deciding fifth set. It was a back-and-forth battle in the final set, but Florida pulled out the 15-12 win
Thayer Hall led the way offensively for Florida, registering 16 kills on the night. Holly Carlton followed with 13 kills of her own and Rachael Kramer pitched in 11.
Allie Monserez controlled the setting game for the Gators, dishing out 24 assists on the evening, while Marlie Monserez added 18.
Allie Gregory and Allie Monserez both controlled the backcourt for Florida, each posting 14 digs on the night.
The Gators finished with 10 team blocks, led by a then career-best nine blocks by Rachael Kramer.
Florida is looking to continue its streak of winning at least 24 matches a year, which they have done in all 28 seasons in Mary Wise's tenure.
