Women’s Tennis sends three players west to the final event of the fall season
TEMPE, Ariz. – McCartney Kessler, Victoria Emma and Ida Jarlskog are to set compete against some of the best singles and doubles talent the nation has to offer when they represent the University of Florida women's tennis program at the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships held at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona. The event, which is the only collegiate tennis tournament to feature competitors from all five divisions (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) begins Wednesday, Nov. 7 and concludes Sunday, Nov. 11.
Jarlskog and Kessler will compete in the 64-player singles draw while Kessler and Emma will pair up in the 32-team doubles bracket. All three Gators earned their ticket to Tempe by winning event titles at the ITA Southeastern Regional Tournament. Jarlskog finished the Tournament with a 6-0 record and a Singles Championship while Kessler/Emma played to a 5-0 mark and hoisted the Doubles Championship trophy.
Jarlskog leads Florida with a 10-2 record in the fall while Kessler isn't too far behind with a mark of 9-2. Sophomores Kessler and Emma teamed up for the first time at the ITA Southeastern Regionals in October and achieved tremendous success in their debut pairing.
For Kessler, Jarlskog and Emma, this will be their final action of the fall campaign while teammates Marlee Zein, Tsveta Dimitrova and Katie Kubicz will compete at the Florida State All-Conference Showdown Friday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11.
