ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida stepped out of conference play for an opportunity to perform in front of a televised audience and against a top-10 nationally ranked opponent, as the 12th-ranked Gators squared off against No. 7 Texas and dropped a 4-0 decision at the USTA National Campus in Orlando Sunday evening.

Tennis Channel broadcast the dual match live and action began with the singles portion to accommodate its two-hour air time.

Unfortunately for the Gators, they weren't able to push past the talented Longhorn singles lineup and lost four matches in straight sets and had its five-match win streak halted.

Florida, which was playing its third match in four days, doesn't have time to dwell on Sunday's setback, as the team returns to Southeastern Conference action and faces league-leader South Carolina on Saturday in Columbia in the Gators' only match of the week.

All-Time: UF leads the all-time series against Texas 25-10 (11-3 at home; 11-3 away; 3-4 neutral).
Last Meeting: The last meeting against the Longhorns was on Feb. 24, 2008 when the Gators defeated the Longhorns 5-2 in Austin.
Good to See you Again: The series began in 1980 and the two teams have played 34 times in the last 38 years. Sunday's meeting, however, will be the first time the two teams have met since 2008.

Florida has just three SEC matches remaining and is 9-1 in the league with a half-game lead over Vanderbilt (8-1) for second in the standings, with Georgia right behind at 7-2.
South Carolina (10-0) leads the SEC as the only undefeated team.
