Gators Earn IWLCA Academic Squad Honors

Benitez and Hicklen tabbed to Honor Roll
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women's lacrosse team was recognized as a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the 2017-18 season, as announced Monday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Last month 17 Gators were named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll and earlier this month, five players earned spots on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for IWLCA Academic Squad Status, a team must post a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA for the entire academic year. Florida's team GPA was a 3.28 for the 2017-18 academic year.
The Gators have garnered IWLCA Academic Status in each of their nine seasons (2010-Present).
In addition, Caroline Benitez and Haley Hicklen were both named to the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll for the first time.
Benitez and Hicklen were two of 462 Division I women's lacrosse upperclassmen to have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Overall, Florida has had 19 athletes earn 31 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll honors in the nine-year history of the program.
