The Gators recorded five singles wins and three doubles victories in the final day of Miami Fall Invite play.
MIAMI, Fla. – Sophomore McCartney Kessler won her match today to earn a share of the Miami Fall Invite Draw A singles title. The five-team tournament was held this weekend at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Kessler won her semifinal match 6-2, 6-3 over Miami's Ulyana Shirokova today. Kessler joins Michigan's Brienne Minor as the two semifinal winners who shared event's Flight A singles title.
Kessler also teamed with fellow sophomore Ida Jarlskog to defeat Michigan's Brienne Minor and Alyvia Jones, 6-2 to take third in Flight A double play. Florida' Katie Kubicz and Marlee Zein defeated Miami's Daniela Roldan/Lucia Marzal Martinez, Miami 6-4 to claim third in Flight B Double play.
Three other Gators recorded singles wins Sunday –Kubicz, Victoria Emma, and Jarlskog. In Flight A Double Consolation final, Emma and Dimitrova won 6-2 over Pittsburgh's Natsumi Okamoto and Camila Moreno.
