GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Gators earned Southeastern Conference weekly gymnastics awards, the league office announced this morning. Junior All-American Rachel Gowey is the SEC Specialist Gymnast of the Week and Trinity Thomas repeats as the SEC Freshman of the Week.

Gowey's Performance:
- Took sole possession of balance beam win at No. 5 LSU with a Florida season-best 9.925
- Key performance as Florida eliminated a 0.05 deficit on its final rotation (beam) to take a 0.075 win at No. 5 LSU. First Gator regular-season road win earned by eliminating a third-rotation deficit since 2012.
- Second consecutive beam win of 2019
- Seventh among the nation's beam performers (9.912 average)
- Also turned in a 9.80 on bars
Thomas' Collegiate Road Debut:
- Runner-up in all-around at No. 5 LSU with a UF season best 39.65. That total is the nation's sixth highest for 2019 and is the top by a freshman.
- Tied for first with a Gator season-best floor mark of 9.95
- Shared second on beam (9.9) and third on bars 9.925
- Shares first in Jan. 21 national bars rankings (9.938 average). T7th on floor (9.925 average) 6th for all-around (39.563 average) and T13 for balance beam (9.875 average)
- Three-time U.S. Senior National Team member. Only member of current U.S. Team that is also on a 2019 collegiate roster
